Our Veterinarians

Deanne Croft, DVM
mimi

I grew up loving animals so naturally I chose to become a veterinarian! During my University years I worked on several farms and developed an affection for pigs, Holstein cows, and driving tractors. For a time, I saw myself practicing mixed animal medicine (large and small animal) but I realized over time that food animal veterinarians play a critical, but different, role in the care of their patients. So, I moved on to companion animal practice. I thought by now that I should know “everything” but as the years fly by and scientific knowledge expands exponentially, I continue to be amazed by what we can do and humbled by what we have yet to learn.

It is gratifying to see the rewards gained through our relationship with animals and society’s recognition of the important role that pets play in our lives. I am so fortunate to spend my days surrounded by people who celebrate and enhance that incredible bond!

I share my life with 2 wonderful daughters, our guinea pig Karl (with bad teeth!), and our foster puppy Mimi (photo on the right). Pico, (who was our 1st foster puppy and is pictured on the website home page) is currently in training to become a hearing ear dog.

Ellie Cowper, DVM
Ellie

I graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1983 and have been practicing in Kitchener since 1985.

I grew up knowing from the age of seven that I wanted to become a veterinarian. I have been thrilled with the opportunities it has offered. I love the relationships between pets and their families, the challenges of  medicine and surgery, and the satisfaction of making a difference.
I happily share my home with my husband, two teenage daughters, two cats and one dog (the third in a line of shelties).

Dr Croft and I founded Chicopee Hills Animal Hospital in 1997, and we have been happy to offer high quality, personal veterinary care since then.
